Got it. I wasn't seeing the attachment button because I was only using quick reply. I thought we were gonna have to hyperlink from another spot on the internet like some of the lesser forums I use with URL disabled. I think thats what they call it. |

One other thing... Best practice is always use a thumbnail. I set the dimensions to 100 wide (the length will automatically calculate). This saves screen space and if a visitor wants to see the full size image, they can click on it! Roy |

Kent, You are correct about the Quick Reply and the regular reply functions. As a user of the forum, you upload attachments via the attachment function at the bottom of a regular reply (or when you create a new topic). In the attachment area, you will find two tabs - Current Attachments (displays files ready to be attached to the current message) and My Files (a list of all the files you have ever uploaded on any post). Uploading files is fairly self-explanatory - click on browse, find the file/photo you want to post, and click upload. This adds the file to your current attachment list AS WELL AS your My Files list. The system assumes that if you are uploading a file your intention is to add it to the current topic or reply that is open...but it does not AUTOMATICALLY add it but rather shows it in the list with several options. Current Attachments The options are: Create Thumbnail - allows you enter smaller dimensions for your image...takes up less screen space...and when the user clicks on it, it expands to full size. If you do not enter a smaller dimensions, it stays full size. Insert Image - places a text placeholder in your reply/topic. The image will appear in that position when you hit submit. Uses the full size image...not really a good choice unless the image is small. Display Link - Adds a link at the bottom of the post that when click opens the file/image in a new window. Useful for files other than images. Delete - obviously removes the uploaded file from the file system and frees up space. When an item is sold or removed from classifieds, we each need to do a little housekeeping by deleting the unneeded files. My Files Displays a list of files you have previously uploaded which can be added to your Current Attachment list by click the Add File to Post. IMPORTANT! - Clicking Add File to Post simply put the file in the Current Attachments list and you still have to go back to Current Attachments to decide HOW you want it to display - thumbnail, full size, or link. Hope this helps! Roy

The Quick Reply function does not have an attachment function. But the Quote and Reply buttons to the upper right of each post will open a more powerful response window that offers the attachment function. Within that, there is the functionality to upload. They would go into the database for this website. There are some funny bumps doing that on this forum, but that's how I did my picture insertions. You'll notice that there are a couple of mine that are "little red Xs". I've still not sorted out how this site works completely. For example, the thumbnail option created a clone the same size as the original. But I uploaded the pictures I attached straight from my pc. |

| Did you insert this picture straight from your computer or did you have to post it to another website first and then use a URL to post it here? |

Wanted to see if we could add a pic of what we were selling. BTW, the Giles 202 in picture was sold a year ago. This was just for testing. Phil |
